I love winter tag!

Yay I love winter!! It's my favorite season so this is a great tag for me! :)

Favorite thing about winter: CHRISTMAS!!! Christmas is my favorite time of year (but I'll do a Christmas tag nearer the time) Also how pretty it is, this morning I left for college and everything had a really pretty coating of frost and it was all sparkly and really pretty.
Favorite food: Christmas dinner (obviously) but also mince pies, I actually don't like the taste very much but they're such a wintery food sooo...
Favorite drink: well tea of course, I've actually been enjoying the strawberry and vanilla tea I got for my birthday:
That said, I'd getting back into hot chocolate after going off it last year.
Favorite thing to wear: Scarves. I just got a new one (or a snood if you like)
You can't tell but it;s shiny too!
Snow? YES! OF COURSE!
Favorite thing to do in the snow: Going sledging. I'd never been before three years ago but it's so fun! Unfortunately the place where I normally go sledging is being destroyed because they're building a tram track there instead :(
Other favorite things to do: Go shopping, go on winter walks with my family and spend my evenings in pajamas  hot water bottles, tea, chocolate and DVDs <3

Well I think that's just about it, I'll put the rest of the stuff in my Christmas tag so that will be longer.Oh but it's advent and as well as the usual chocolate advent calendar we also brought down the story one from the loft again. 24 little books making up the Christmas story:

Well that's all for now. It's good to be back :)

I'M BACK!?

Hi guys! So I'm finally back! I'm so sorry I've been gone for so long but it's been complete chaos. What with  starting college, mocks, starting work experience, and some other really important stuff.

So what's new? Well...

  • I started college
  • I got a work experience placement at Primary School in year 6
  • Took (and failed most of) my mocks
  • Been revising non-stop for my AS exams,
  • Took a TEFEL (teaching English as a foreign language) mini-course
  • Took up more hours at the charity shop where I work
  • Took an archery beginer's course. (I came second in the competition) Look how I did on my second week:
  • (yeah the one in the middle)
  • Probably lots of other stuff but I can't remember.
Oooh I also got these boots!

Sorry again for being away for so long I'm definitely going to try to post more often again. Might post another tonight!

10 Day You Challenge

So I've so a few people do this and if you haven't I invite you to come and join me. It's pretty self explanatory from the picture. I've put off doing it before because I'm not very keen on putting up a picture of myself... But anyway, without further ado, here is day 1.
10 secrets:

  1. I usually claim that my favorite snack is green tea and apple but let's face it; who doesn't prefer pringles or chocolate?!
  2. I don't really have a skincare routine. I tend to use different products each time until I find one I love.
  3. I tend to get crazy obsessed with books and films and stuff. I'm currently obsessed with Sherlock, Divergent and Uglies (which is the book I'm reading at the moment.)
  4. I may be a little bit OCD. But I mean who isn't a little bit OCD?
  5. I hate being the center of attention but I hate being left out...
  6. Sometimes I like to just spend a whole day in my sweats and watch tv.
  7. I'm a complete couch potato. Most of the time when I get in from school I just watch TV all night. Right now I'm watching Big Bang Theory, I've just started watching this and it's awesome.
  8. I have a huge crush on Joey Graceffa. Shh!!
  9. I'd love a cat...or a dog...
  10. I have a really short attention span.
Well there you go. Tomorrow: 9 loves. Why don't you join me?

Lush face mask review

Hi everyone, thank you for all your happy birthday messages! So this is the mask my sister picked out for me and it's and awesome choice so big thanks to her!
So this is the 'Catastrophe Cosmetic' one which is awesome because I'm all about blueberries because they contain antioxidants that fight harmful free radicals. It's literally full of blueberries!

It also contains chamomile which I'm not going to lie didn't do a whole lot but you know.So the main thing I noticed is that my face felt really detoxed. You can put on a thick layer and it washes off really easily which is great. It did make my face quite red afterwards for a while and I was like well the chamomile fails but this is normal for me and it was fine after a while. But all in all this is a good face mask I'd rate it a 6.5-7.5 out of 10. That's still good because the highest I ever really give is a 9 anyway so yeah.

Birthday Haul!!!

Hi all, I'm 17!!! Yay finally, so I finally found out where my friends were taking me- to a Chinese Buffet which they know I love. I've not been to this one before but it was awesome, such a lovely day. So I thought I'd show you my haul...
Okay so I took all of these really quickly so I'm sorry for the poor quality plus the lighting was bad.

This gorgeous mask-now we all have one and it's just beautiful.
This super yummy tea I'm drinking now. This one's  strawberry and Vanilla, and is awesome as ice tea.
These two mugs because well I love mugs!
Random balloons!
Chocolate! It's no secret that I love white chocolate!
This adorable penguin!
Sherlock Series 2!!
Divergent!!
Owl City-The Midsummer Station!!!

And then A whole load of money to go see the Loin King in London!. Oh and a Lush face mask with is currently in the fridge, and I literally just got a T-Shirt that says "Keep calm and watch Friends". Awesome. All in all a great day!! :D

August Favorites - Part 1

Hi, wow two posts in one day? Aren't I efficient? ;) So I'll start with my none-beauty favorites today then do the rest tomorrow.

Book: The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This is another dystopian society book like the Hunger Games and Divergent so this was right up my street. It's a really good book with a big twist at the end so I can't wait to read the sequel. They have made-up swear words which I've started using because then no one knows I'm swearing!
Film: The Lorax. No suprises there. I've spoken about this film before so if you've not read that then check out my Dr Seuss post.
Song: Speed of Love/ Embers by Owl City. I seriously love this guy and his new album The Midsummer Station has just been released.
TV Program: Adventure Time. Again I've done a whole post on this before so you should go check that out but man I love this show!
Computer Game: Wii Party. I've spent a lot of time this week playing this, I recommend Board Game Island.
App: KIK. This is a messenger type app. I love it because it lets me talk to people in other countries for free as long as I'm on WiFi. Add me! (RainbowVeins71)
Snack: Pringles. I think these speak for themselves. Om nom nom!
Drink: Green Tea. It has lots of health benefits and is yummy.
YouTube Channel: adrisaurus. This girl does the MOST AMAZING acoustic covers and are simply beautiful. You should head over there and give her some YouTube love!

That's all for today, more tomorrow!

Go Ape and a Mystery...

Hi everyone! It's only 2 days until my birthday!! So to celebrate mine and my sister's birthdays together me, her and our parents went to Go Ape because we just like that kind of thing okay? I mean it's a big assault course up in trees! It's so fun! Unfortunately I don't have any photos because I didn't take my camera because I didn't want to break it on huge zip lines and tarzan swings! But for anyone who wants to try it but are worried about safety, you are ALWAYS connected to something unless you are on the ground; you have two cords on your harness with a carabina on them so you are always attached by at least one because you move them across alternatively...it's hard to explain, but you're safe.
When I got home I found this waiting for me...

(To Naomi, Happy Birthday! For your birthday we are taking you out to lunch...)

Hmm, a complete mystery as to where they're taking me but I can't wait! They know I love food, and I love eating out so this will be great! Argh I hate not knowing, but I guess I'll find out soon. But aren't my friends awesome?

Hmm it's the first of the month so I'll do my August favorites post later,
So until then,

August Empties

Yay my first empties post! Um so yeah, here they are!

1) Alberto Balsam strawberries & cream shampoo. I've actually gotten through about three of these this month since I have insanely thick hair and it's also quite long so I use a lot. But it's good and dirt cheap ( normally about £1 a bottle). Yeah I'd recommend it.
2) Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser. I've still got the littlest amount left so it's all good because I love it! I'm getting this again.
3)Simple Replenishing Moisturiser. This is quite good, it's quite thin but quite rich. It covers my needs.
4)Superdrug Nourishing Mud Mask. (Yep sorry the packet's so messy!) I really like this and have just got a couple more. Very nourishing and you can normally get two or three applications out of one packet.
5) Vaseline. Yay vaseline! I love this. Enough said. ;)
6)The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care. I've talked about this before, I love this and will get it again like vaseline.
7)Boots Vitamin E Eye Cream. Not desperately effective but it's a reasonably good and cheap, I'll probably get it again....OH!! Unless anyone can recommend any good eye creams for under £10, especially if they tackle under eye wrinkles.

Okay so that's everything. Yesterday was fun I went to an old friend'es house to watch DVDs like Friends and Miranda. So funny! Went to the hair dressers today; I was kind of nervous because I went somewhere new and I wasn't sure how good she'll be especially with my hair! But she was really good and it's so much thinner now so yay!

Diluting to make products last longer

Hi everyone! Yep so it's just as it sounds, you can do this with most water based products like: nail varnish remover, eye make-up remover, toner, hand sanitiser, (and even milk!!)
Obviously they have to be diluted different amounts, for example toner is diluted less. When you get about a 3rd through a product just fill the bottle with water and shake vigorously.

On other news; it's almost my birthday!! 3rd September I'm turning 17! I've not asked for driving lessons as the insurance is too expensive, so I've asked for tickets to go see the Lion King on stage in London. We've booked GoApe for Friday as I'm kinda combining my birthday with my sister's back in July since she didn't really celebrate it because she was on a Scout camp.
I met up with my Grandparents for a Chinese on Sunday, and yesterday I spent the rainy day playing casino games with my family-it was surprisingly fun!

Results day

Hi all, sorry I've been away from blogger for so long. Just a quick update. So I've not been doing much since I went to see the Lorax but today was results day.
Yes my GCSE results were in. Overall I'm pleased. After weeks of being really nervous I opened my letter to a nice: 4As, 5Bs, 2Cs and a merit!
As in: Maths
          English language
          Biology
          Physics
Bs in: English lit
          Chemistry
          Geography
          RS
         Media
Cs in: Art
         French
Merit in ICT.
So overall I'm very happy and went off to enroll at college so I have a place there. :) After I enrolled I met all my friends to celebrate at the park as there was a carnival there. We went on the Sizzler which is my favorite fair ground ride. Then me and R went rowing on the boating late. I'm so rubbish at it! All in all a very good day and mum's just gone out to buy me some celebratory Ben and Jerry's! Yum!!

Just a quick update, bye for now,

Dr Seuss

Okay first of all I never said that this blog was specifically a beauty blog okay? :)

Okay so I've been really into Dr Seuss at the moment. I just thunk his books are awesome. I never really liked them as a child because the illustrations creeped me out, everything's so fury! And the grinch scared me. My mum always used to read 'A Fly Went By' to me and my sister but it was such a long book!
I'm not sure how I got back into it, I guess it was 'Horton Hears a Who' my mum tapped that film selling it to me by saying it was a Dr Seuss film starring Jim Carrey. I loved it. So of the quotes in it are awesome. Then a couple of weeks later my geography teacher let us watch 'The Lorax' (the old version) because it's about sustainable development. I thought it was amazing and went home and youtube searched his story. You can watch most of them. A few of my favorites are:

  • The famous Cat in the Hat
  • Green Eggs and Ham
  • Fox in Socks
  • The Sneeches
  • The Zax
So naturally I  was really excited when 'The Lorax' was released in the UK and last Wednesday I went to see it. It's AMAZING! Me and my friend were the only teenagers there but who cares?! I thought it was hilarious but apparently the little kids didn't agree! It's very true to the original and the book it's just extended. The Hummingfish were particularly awesome. I LOVE the soundtrack; I'm listening to the songs now actually. My favorite songs in order of preference are:
  • How bad can I be
  • Let it grow
  • Thneedville
I'd definitely recommend going to see it. Last Saturday at the charity shop where I work I found a Dr Seuss and brought it a a bargain price (£1.30 down from £19.99).

I was super excited about this because I've been looking for my two favorite stories 'Fox in Socks' and 'Green Eggs and Ham' for ages (I'm on a mission to learn Fox in Socks off by Heart!) And this book had them both and more!

Another reason I love Dr Seuss is because of the quotes and lessons. Read this (i found the from StumbleUpon so I don't know its official website sorry)

Haha awesome. So that's about it. You should go see the Lorax. See you soon.

Holiday

First of all, I'm REALLY sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been on holiday and didn't have any internet connection and I've been super busy ever since I got back. SORRY! xxx

Yep so I stayed in Croyde in Devon. It's a nice place there. It looks like this:
Yup so it's kinda far away oops, sorry
So I enjoyed staying there. We normally stay in Combe Martin but me and my sister body board A LOT and Croyde is a great beach for that. Only problem was that there were lots of jellyfish but you hardly noticed them. We also visited Woolacombe which is one of my favorite places in Devon so if you ever go, you should visit there.
Me and my family sat on the beach to watch the sunset together. It was the first sunset I've ever really seen properly because where I live all the houses block it :(
More new things; I had my first cream tea. (So British!) It was so yummy! I still can't believe I've going to Devon practically every year and have never had a cream tea. Furthermore I can't believe I've lived in England my whole life and never had one- especially for a tea addict like me!!
After Devon we went to Wales for a couple of days because mum wanted to go walking there. So we went to the Wetland Center which basically a big nature reserve to feed the ducks and go canoeing.

So that's my holiday, have any of you guys been away anywhere?

July Favourites - Part 2

Lip balm: Soft lips. This was recommended to me by VeriHolden. I love it! It's spf 20 so it's great for summer, smells gorgeous and it's under £2!!
Hair product: Mark Hill Holiday Hair Dry Shampoo. This was one of the products I got at the Boots fair and I've been trying out while I've been away. It's great for making your hair a bit less icky from the sand and sea.
Facial product: Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser. I have oily but sensitive skin so this is great for me. I also recently discovered that if you apply it on top of sun screen and leave it for a little while it makes your face look less freaking shiny!
Body Product: Coconut body oil. This is another product I got from the Boots fair. It's great and smells delicious.
Nail Varnish: The accessorize one (reeeeally I forgot the name) Did a post on this a couple of weeks back but I still love it.
Make up: Clear mascara. I know a lot of people don't understand  the point in this but I love it. I am lucky enough to have quite curly eyelashes so this highlights them and looks natural. I unfortunately lost my favourite one a while back but it smelt like cucumber.
Item of clothing: Black and white skirt. I don't usually wear skirts, just shorts, jeans and dresses so I was on a missions to find a pretty one.

Well that's just about all for July,

July favourites- part 1

*I want to apologise now for the lack of photos and posting, I'm away from home at the moment and there is a bad internet connection where I'm staying and most of the stuff mentioned is at home. *

So I have a lot of favourites so I'll split it into two posts, I'll do my general favourites today and my beauty related favourites tomorrow. Okay? :)

Book: Divergent by Veronica Roth. Wow I love this book, read it and its sequel twice this month! Planning on doing a proper review of it at some point unless you couldn't care less. I'm hoping the next book will be out soon because I can't wait!
Film: Yes man/Ice Age 4. Sad I know but I generally love anything with Jim Carrey in so for me this film was great, it was hilarious! Also Ice Age 4 is brand new and I loved it, it was so funny and I just love all the Ice Age films.
Song: Good Time by Owl City. As you can probably tell, I LOVE Owl City! I think he's amazing and one of my main sources of inspiration. He always encourages me to keep going. Probably do a post on him at some point maybe too... So I love his new song ft Carly Rae Jepsen. His new album is out Late August which has been moved from September which means now I can get it for my birthday yay!
(Sorry for the lame photo but I had to put something and that was the best I could do. SORRY!)

Programme: How to be a gentleman. This is brand new, you can watch it at 9:30 on Monday's  on Comedy Central. So far it's really good.
Computer game:  Super Mario 64 DS. Nerdy I know but I've rediscovered this game recently and have been playing it constantly.
Android App: Colornote. Basically it's sticky notes for your phone but organised in one place. You can chose different colours, text or check-lists that you can cross off and even set text reminders. It's the most useful app I have.
Snack/Food:(Really sorry-can't remember the name) animal shaped chips! My friend was having a party and I saw these in Tesco and convinced her to buy them instead of curly-fries because they were so cute!
Drink: Monster. I don't normally like energy drinks but this one was yummy :P Not very effective though.
Youtube channel: Joey Graceffa I watch A LOT of Youtube so I figured I would include this. Joey is amazing and another inspiration of mine. He's hilarious and posts daily vlogs.

Right so that's all for now, check out part 2 probably tomorrow, thanks!

I'm a stereotypical Britt?!

Everyday for the past 3 and 1/2 weeks it has been cold and rained. Naturally everyone complained, but now these last couple of days it's been really sunny and warm. I'm mean really warm for Britain. So warm I got hot and sweaty going for a 10 minute walk in a T-shirt at 9am. So now I've been complaining about the the heat but how it will be rainy again when I go on holiday. Very stereotypical right?
Also I do drink tea... a lot. It like my favorite tea and my Dad and I have actually made plans to have cream tea and scones on holiday...;D Having said that, I don't speak really posh; I actually live in quite a chavy estate (BTW people from America: do you guys know what a chav is?? Because I have a friend there who's never heard of them!)

So I'm a stereotypical Britt but without the posh accent haha :)

Summer nails

Okay so I know it's really basic but I like it. The colours are really summery and vibrant but I like that it's just the tips and not the whole nails.

I remembered straight after I did them that I was going to do them rainbow colours because I like rainbows (given the name! :P) but I like the random but bright colours. I don't like keeping the same nail art for more than a week so I'll be needing another summer nail idea so please let me know yours!

So yeah, just a really quick post,
Talk soon,

Photo a day challenge

Hi all :)

So, (I always start with 'so') since I've not been able to upload my photos, I thought that now that I can I might as well do the 'photo a day challenge' basically you just have to take a photo everyday for a week (which is super easy for me ;) (also, I go on holiday soon so I'll probably do another one when I get back)).

Monday: Stopping in Starbucks after a LOT of walking around York

Tuesday: My results from Quasar-I won the first game!

Wednesday: Ice Age 4-whoo!

Thursday: New nail design for picnic

Friday: Party food (there was so much and this was before all of the hot food!)

Saturday: Not been able to get this out of my head since I discovered it, it's exactly how I imagined it (from Mockingjay)

Sunday: It was recommended that I try this so I did and I love it! Will definitely be taking it on holiday with me!

So that's my week in a nutshell, let me know if you want the nail tutorial or anything, it's pretty easy though...
