July favourites- part 1

*I want to apologise now for the lack of photos and posting, I'm away from home at the moment and there is a bad internet connection where I'm staying and most of the stuff mentioned is at home. *

So I have a lot of favourites so I'll split it into two posts, I'll do my general favourites today and my beauty related favourites tomorrow. Okay? :)

Book: Divergent by Veronica Roth. Wow I love this book, read it and its sequel twice this month! Planning on doing a proper review of it at some point unless you couldn't care less. I'm hoping the next book will be out soon because I can't wait!
Film: Yes man/Ice Age 4. Sad I know but I generally love anything with Jim Carrey in so for me this film was great, it was hilarious! Also Ice Age 4 is brand new and I loved it, it was so funny and I just love all the Ice Age films.
Song: Good Time by Owl City. As you can probably tell, I LOVE Owl City! I think he's amazing and one of my main sources of inspiration. He always encourages me to keep going. Probably do a post on him at some point maybe too... So I love his new song ft Carly Rae Jepsen. His new album is out Late August which has been moved from September which means now I can get it for my birthday yay!
(Sorry for the lame photo but I had to put something and that was the best I could do. SORRY!)

Programme: How to be a gentleman. This is brand new, you can watch it at 9:30 on Monday's  on Comedy Central. So far it's really good.
Computer game:  Super Mario 64 DS. Nerdy I know but I've rediscovered this game recently and have been playing it constantly.
Android App: Colornote. Basically it's sticky notes for your phone but organised in one place. You can chose different colours, text or check-lists that you can cross off and even set text reminders. It's the most useful app I have.
Snack/Food:(Really sorry-can't remember the name) animal shaped chips! My friend was having a party and I saw these in Tesco and convinced her to buy them instead of curly-fries because they were so cute!
Drink: Monster. I don't normally like energy drinks but this one was yummy :P Not very effective though.
Youtube channel: Joey Graceffa I watch A LOT of Youtube so I figured I would include this. Joey is amazing and another inspiration of mine. He's hilarious and posts daily vlogs.

Right so that's all for now, check out part 2 probably tomorrow, thanks!

I'm a stereotypical Britt?!

Everyday for the past 3 and 1/2 weeks it has been cold and rained. Naturally everyone complained, but now these last couple of days it's been really sunny and warm. I'm mean really warm for Britain. So warm I got hot and sweaty going for a 10 minute walk in a T-shirt at 9am. So now I've been complaining about the the heat but how it will be rainy again when I go on holiday. Very stereotypical right?
Also I do drink tea... a lot. It like my favorite tea and my Dad and I have actually made plans to have cream tea and scones on holiday...;D Having said that, I don't speak really posh; I actually live in quite a chavy estate (BTW people from America: do you guys know what a chav is?? Because I have a friend there who's never heard of them!)

So I'm a stereotypical Britt but without the posh accent haha :)

Summer nails

Okay so I know it's really basic but I like it. The colours are really summery and vibrant but I like that it's just the tips and not the whole nails.

I remembered straight after I did them that I was going to do them rainbow colours because I like rainbows (given the name! :P) but I like the random but bright colours. I don't like keeping the same nail art for more than a week so I'll be needing another summer nail idea so please let me know yours!

So yeah, just a really quick post,
Talk soon,

Photo a day challenge

Hi all :)

So, (I always start with 'so') since I've not been able to upload my photos, I thought that now that I can I might as well do the 'photo a day challenge' basically you just have to take a photo everyday for a week (which is super easy for me ;) (also, I go on holiday soon so I'll probably do another one when I get back)).

Monday: Stopping in Starbucks after a LOT of walking around York

Tuesday: My results from Quasar-I won the first game!

Wednesday: Ice Age 4-whoo!

Thursday: New nail design for picnic

Friday: Party food (there was so much and this was before all of the hot food!)

Saturday: Not been able to get this out of my head since I discovered it, it's exactly how I imagined it (from Mockingjay)

Sunday: It was recommended that I try this so I did and I love it! Will definitely be taking it on holiday with me!

So that's my week in a nutshell, let me know if you want the nail tutorial or anything, it's pretty easy though...

Party!

Friday was the final day of activity week so it was the party! After the entire day of converting R's garage, blowing up over 90 balloons and setting up SO MUCH FOOD we were finally ready. It was a great evening. We also had an epic game of hide and seek which reminded me of the other epic game of hide and seek at L's house in the dark. All in all I had a really good week.

This has probably bored you so sorry.

Cinema and Picnic

I'm going to roll activity week days 3 and 4 together seeing as I'm so behind.
So on Wednesday we all went to the cinema for orange 2 for 1. We went to see Ice Age 4. It was so good, it was hilarious. Unlike the Shrek films which keep getting worse the Ice Age films remain at the same quality.
On Thursday we had a picnic planned. Unfortunately, due to typical British weather it was raining. So instead R put up her big tent and we ate in that in her garden and played truth or dare on S's phone although we cheated by rejecting almost all of them (but if you saw the dares you'd reject them too! ;P).
I slept over at R's which is why I haven't been posting on time so sorry about that. We spent pretty much the whole evening watching films like the old Disney Alice in Wonderland <3 I love all versions of this film although I've never gotten round to reading the book yet. I'm currently re-reading Divergent for the second time these past couple of months!

Anyway that's all for now,

P.S. My camera's not working at the moment so sorry for the lack of pictures. xxx

Quasar

So I know it's late but for activity week day 2 we went to quasar (or laser quest) which is basically paint-balling but with lasers so it's less brutal...but not the way me and B were playing it... ;P
So in the first game it was boys vs girls. The boys won -.- but I won on the girls team. My tip would have to be just shoot at that thing in the other team's HQ - you get so many points, if you sneak round the back while everyone else is fighting it's easy. See? Smart and less fighting like Foxface in Hunger Games which is one of my MANY nicknames. Haha, yep that's me :D
In the second game we mixed up the teams but these two little boys (they could only be about 9) joined us. Well they were vicious. Stabbing us with their guns, chasing us around the arena for ages and shooting their own team more than the enemies. We lost again but I think that was because the two little kids were on the other team. This time I only came 3/4 despite improving my score. Never mind, you win some you lose some.

So that was Tuesday,

York

So this week me and my friends are on an activity week full of trips and days out. So yesterday we went on a trip to York. After an insanely funny train ride sitting with R, B and F we arrived... in the rain. No surprise there. Me, S, L, her brother and his girlfriend and F decided to go to the York Dungeons.
Yeah so I jump pretty easily so I was kind of nervous but excited- it was going to be fun, and it was. Basically it's a whole load of rooms, some had live actors some fake models talking etc. They tell a bunch of gory but true stories from the past and did a lot of turning of the lights and when they came back on the actors were right up in my face screaming (making me scream as a result). There was a maze of mirrors which I'm still convinced was rigged and it was all largely interactive. Oh I was not impressed when they sprayed us with water and pretended it was blood- especially when I was only just drying off from the rain! Sorry there was no photography aloud so I don't have any photos.
Then we just spent the afternoon wondering round York. Got a ring 70% off from accessorize.

So that was Monday. Today we're off to Laser Quest so I'll talk to you later,

Happy Birthday!

So it's a day late because I was busy but yesterday was my sister's birthday. My little sis is 13! (13 on Friday 13th) Wow I can't believe it but now my parents have two teenagers to deal with although I'm the grumpy one but yeah.
She wasn't actually around for most of the day because she had school then a Scout camp so we'll celebrate it properly on Sunday. I got her a couple of books she wanted and one of those gift in a jar. I'd recently found a recipe for chocolate brownie in a mug and decided to do that.

Only put the dry ingredients in (obviously) and try to layer them.

I also made the label

I you want to make this yourself: you need 1/8 a cup of sugar, an 1/8 a cup of flour and a tbsp of cocoa powder. Pour all into a mug and add a pinch of salt. (this is what is in the jar). The rest of the instructions are on the back of the label below (I'm too lazy to type it out again)...

Please note that this only makes half a mug of brownie, feel free to double all the ingredients, I just used this much because when I tested the recipe out I realised my sister would never be able to eat that much.

That's all for now,

Boots Fair Product Haul

So on Sunday I went to the Boots fair where they give employees chance to buy discounted or discontinued products at  a lower price. There are also carnival rides and stuff. After going to last year's firework fair and being disappointed with my haul after being assured the bags would be awesome and buying 3 I was more cautious and only brought one. But I was pleasantly surprised. The bags were £5 but what was in them was worth far much more. This is what I got:
Yeah I just realised that I forgot to put the hairspray and dry shampoo in but never mind.

The perfumes should be about £20 each, soap and glory is about £10 each and the body butter is about £6. I'm not sure about the rest. So it was definitely worth it.
Body stuff

Bath/shower stuff

Hygiene stuff

Make up stuff (sorry about the blurry photo)

Hair stuff

Foot scrubs

Perfumes

I'll do a review of stuff once I've used them a bit more but I just wanted to do a quick haul post.
Please note that you can only get tickets to the Boots Fair if you are part of the Boots factory staff. I'm not but my friend's mum is and got the tickets for us.

Anyway, much love
Naomi xxx

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer: I did buy the products in the £5 bag but they are discounted. This is because the products are either discontinued, faulted or unused testers which they can't sell. So they weren't give-aways for promotion otherwise I'd tell you guys. Just wanted to make that clear. :)

No7 Primer review

I've been using this primer for a while now so I thought I'd do you guys a review. So I've been using the No7 Colour Calming Primer. Looks like this:
At first I was kinda scared because well, it's green! But After you blend it in it still looks a little green but not as bad but that's okay because your're about to put foundation on so don't worry.
So I started using this primer because my skin is really red at the moment and I wanted to try to neutralize that. Well to be honest it doesn't blend very well. It's all patchy but I don't know if that's my skin or the primer. That means when you put the foundation on you either get green patches or patchy foundation. Having said that it does take away the redness really well so I'm really impressed with that and it is a good base for foundation.
Overall I give this primer a 6.5/10 because it is kinda patchy but other than that I'm impressed.
See ya soon,

Favorite Nail Varnish

I've had this one for a while now and it's definitely my favorite. The Accessorize Aztec Nail Polish. It's gorgeous! You may have seen these new chameleon nail varnishes? But this one has been around for a while now but it's gorgeous, it's blue in a certain light but in another it's purple which are my two favorite colours so this was perfect for me. The reason I prefer the Accessorize chameleon nail varnish to others is because it's sparkly  not just shiny. There are of course other colour combinations but this one's my favorite (let me know yours!)

(I know these photos aren't very good and you can't see the different colours very well but it looks  MUCH better on (it's so pretty!))

Let me know what you think,
take care
