August Empties

Yay my first empties post! Um so yeah, here they are!

1) Alberto Balsam strawberries & cream shampoo. I've actually gotten through about three of these this month since I have insanely thick hair and it's also quite long so I use a lot. But it's good and dirt cheap ( normally about £1 a bottle). Yeah I'd recommend it.
2) Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser. I've still got the littlest amount left so it's all good because I love it! I'm getting this again.
3)Simple Replenishing Moisturiser. This is quite good, it's quite thin but quite rich. It covers my needs.
4)Superdrug Nourishing Mud Mask. (Yep sorry the packet's so messy!) I really like this and have just got a couple more. Very nourishing and you can normally get two or three applications out of one packet.
5) Vaseline. Yay vaseline! I love this. Enough said. ;)
6)The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care. I've talked about this before, I love this and will get it again like vaseline.
7)Boots Vitamin E Eye Cream. Not desperately effective but it's a reasonably good and cheap, I'll probably get it again....OH!! Unless anyone can recommend any good eye creams for under £10, especially if they tackle under eye wrinkles.

Okay so that's everything. Yesterday was fun I went to an old friend'es house to watch DVDs like Friends and Miranda. So funny! Went to the hair dressers today; I was kind of nervous because I went somewhere new and I wasn't sure how good she'll be especially with my hair! But she was really good and it's so much thinner now so yay!

Diluting to make products last longer

Hi everyone! Yep so it's just as it sounds, you can do this with most water based products like: nail varnish remover, eye make-up remover, toner, hand sanitiser, (and even milk!!)
Obviously they have to be diluted different amounts, for example toner is diluted less. When you get about a 3rd through a product just fill the bottle with water and shake vigorously.

On other news; it's almost my birthday!! 3rd September I'm turning 17! I've not asked for driving lessons as the insurance is too expensive, so I've asked for tickets to go see the Lion King on stage in London. We've booked GoApe for Friday as I'm kinda combining my birthday with my sister's back in July since she didn't really celebrate it because she was on a Scout camp.
I met up with my Grandparents for a Chinese on Sunday, and yesterday I spent the rainy day playing casino games with my family-it was surprisingly fun!

Results day

Hi all, sorry I've been away from blogger for so long. Just a quick update. So I've not been doing much since I went to see the Lorax but today was results day.
Yes my GCSE results were in. Overall I'm pleased. After weeks of being really nervous I opened my letter to a nice: 4As, 5Bs, 2Cs and a merit!
As in: Maths
          English language
          Biology
          Physics
Bs in: English lit
          Chemistry
          Geography
          RS
         Media
Cs in: Art
         French
Merit in ICT.
So overall I'm very happy and went off to enroll at college so I have a place there. :) After I enrolled I met all my friends to celebrate at the park as there was a carnival there. We went on the Sizzler which is my favorite fair ground ride. Then me and R went rowing on the boating late. I'm so rubbish at it! All in all a very good day and mum's just gone out to buy me some celebratory Ben and Jerry's! Yum!!

Just a quick update, bye for now,

Dr Seuss

Okay first of all I never said that this blog was specifically a beauty blog okay? :)

Okay so I've been really into Dr Seuss at the moment. I just thunk his books are awesome. I never really liked them as a child because the illustrations creeped me out, everything's so fury! And the grinch scared me. My mum always used to read 'A Fly Went By' to me and my sister but it was such a long book!
I'm not sure how I got back into it, I guess it was 'Horton Hears a Who' my mum tapped that film selling it to me by saying it was a Dr Seuss film starring Jim Carrey. I loved it. So of the quotes in it are awesome. Then a couple of weeks later my geography teacher let us watch 'The Lorax' (the old version) because it's about sustainable development. I thought it was amazing and went home and youtube searched his story. You can watch most of them. A few of my favorites are:

  • The famous Cat in the Hat
  • Green Eggs and Ham
  • Fox in Socks
  • The Sneeches
  • The Zax
So naturally I  was really excited when 'The Lorax' was released in the UK and last Wednesday I went to see it. It's AMAZING! Me and my friend were the only teenagers there but who cares?! I thought it was hilarious but apparently the little kids didn't agree! It's very true to the original and the book it's just extended. The Hummingfish were particularly awesome. I LOVE the soundtrack; I'm listening to the songs now actually. My favorite songs in order of preference are:
  • How bad can I be
  • Let it grow
  • Thneedville
I'd definitely recommend going to see it. Last Saturday at the charity shop where I work I found a Dr Seuss and brought it a a bargain price (£1.30 down from £19.99).

I was super excited about this because I've been looking for my two favorite stories 'Fox in Socks' and 'Green Eggs and Ham' for ages (I'm on a mission to learn Fox in Socks off by Heart!) And this book had them both and more!

Another reason I love Dr Seuss is because of the quotes and lessons. Read this (i found the from StumbleUpon so I don't know its official website sorry)

Haha awesome. So that's about it. You should go see the Lorax. See you soon.

Holiday

First of all, I'm REALLY sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been on holiday and didn't have any internet connection and I've been super busy ever since I got back. SORRY! xxx

Yep so I stayed in Croyde in Devon. It's a nice place there. It looks like this:
Yup so it's kinda far away oops, sorry
So I enjoyed staying there. We normally stay in Combe Martin but me and my sister body board A LOT and Croyde is a great beach for that. Only problem was that there were lots of jellyfish but you hardly noticed them. We also visited Woolacombe which is one of my favorite places in Devon so if you ever go, you should visit there.
Me and my family sat on the beach to watch the sunset together. It was the first sunset I've ever really seen properly because where I live all the houses block it :(
More new things; I had my first cream tea. (So British!) It was so yummy! I still can't believe I've going to Devon practically every year and have never had a cream tea. Furthermore I can't believe I've lived in England my whole life and never had one- especially for a tea addict like me!!
After Devon we went to Wales for a couple of days because mum wanted to go walking there. So we went to the Wetland Center which basically a big nature reserve to feed the ducks and go canoeing.

So that's my holiday, have any of you guys been away anywhere?

July Favourites - Part 2

Lip balm: Soft lips. This was recommended to me by VeriHolden. I love it! It's spf 20 so it's great for summer, smells gorgeous and it's under £2!!
Hair product: Mark Hill Holiday Hair Dry Shampoo. This was one of the products I got at the Boots fair and I've been trying out while I've been away. It's great for making your hair a bit less icky from the sand and sea.
Facial product: Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser. I have oily but sensitive skin so this is great for me. I also recently discovered that if you apply it on top of sun screen and leave it for a little while it makes your face look less freaking shiny!
Body Product: Coconut body oil. This is another product I got from the Boots fair. It's great and smells delicious.
Nail Varnish: The accessorize one (reeeeally I forgot the name) Did a post on this a couple of weeks back but I still love it.
Make up: Clear mascara. I know a lot of people don't understand  the point in this but I love it. I am lucky enough to have quite curly eyelashes so this highlights them and looks natural. I unfortunately lost my favourite one a while back but it smelt like cucumber.
Item of clothing: Black and white skirt. I don't usually wear skirts, just shorts, jeans and dresses so I was on a missions to find a pretty one.

Well that's just about all for July,
